Landowners get paid
Have land that can take clean fill? You can earn from permitted placement on farms and rural sites.
I have landSoil marketplace · Ontario, the GTA, and Durham
The one-stop marketplace for soil and the materials that move with it. Landowners get paid to receive clean fill. Contractors and developers spend less getting rid of soil, granular, and other material.
The right material goes to the right home, because everyone has needs. One person's surplus is another person's need.

O. Reg. 406/19 came in on 1 January 2021, with testing and the registry on 1 January 2023, and a landfill restriction for cleaner soil on 1 January 2027. We place soil from Table 1 through Table 3.1 when the site can take it.
The ministry estimates about 25 million cubic metres of excess soil a year. A 2017 RCCAO study estimated 25.8 million cubic metres of excess construction fill in 2015. Both figures, and the limits on them, are cited on the rules page.

Match the material, sort the permit, and move it to a site that wants it.
Landowners and other receiving sites earn income when clean soil is placed on their land under a permit. What you earn is written into an agreement for that site. Soil Swap does not publish a rate.
That is the other side of the swap. We match soil, granular, and other material with a local home, a site that needs it. That can cost less than disposal. Whether it does depends on distance, the permit, and the material. We do not advertise a saving.
We can work with soil from Table 1 through Table 3.1 of the Excess Soil Quality Standards under O. Reg. 406/19. Table 1 is the full-depth background standard. The Rules say it contains the same standards as Table 1 under O. Reg. 153/04, with notes on leachate analysis. Table 2.1 is the volume-independent full-depth potable standard. Table 3.1 is the volume-independent full-depth non-potable standard. The reuse site and a qualified person still decide if a load fits.
